I tested 4 AI tools to create lead magnets

and Lovable.dev surprised me the most

This week I tested four different AI tools to see which one creates the best lead magnets.

The results were... well, one tool completely blew my mind while another was a total disappointment.

GPT-5 disappointed me (seriously)

I started with the shiny new GPT-5 from OpenAI because, honestly, I was curious about all the hype. I asked it to generate 10 lead magnet ideas for my audience of marketers and tech entrepreneurs. The ideas were solid - things like "1 hour a week content calendar" and "50 plug-and-play prompts for marketers."

But then it got interesting.

I picked one idea (a content repurposing matrix) and asked GPT-5 to create the actual lead magnet - a PDF. And the result was a basic, text-heavy document that looked like it was made in 2005.

For a flagship model, this was genuinely disappointing.

Claude Sonnet 4 delivered solid results

My usual go-to tool, Claude Sonnet 4, performed much better. It created a clean, well-structured PDF with logical flow and good information hierarchy. The design wasn't fancy, but it was professional and usable.

The main downside is that I could only download it as HTML, not PDF. That means extra steps to convert it, which adds friction to my workflow.

Genspark.ai impressed with research capabilities

Genspark.ai created a slide-style lead magnet with great content.

What I love about this tool is its ability to do heavy agentic research and scrape specific websites for data (and then use it on my lead magnets) - I could literally tell it to visit my website and pull best practices from there.

But when I downloaded the PDF, the design completely broke. All those nice visual elements got cut off, making it unusable without significant editing.

Lovable.dev blew my mind completely

Here's the winner.

I gave Lovable.dev the same prompt, and it created a fully functional website that I could publish immediately. We're talking about a professional-looking lead magnet with interactive elements, clean design, and a temporary URL ready to share.

The best part is that I can connect it to Supabase (a database provider) to add a proper lead capture system. People enter their email, get access to the website/lead magnet, and I build my list automatically.

My verdict after testing all four

Hands down, I'm going with Lovable.dev for future lead magnets. Here's why:

• Instant publishing as a website: No need to worry about hosting or having file formats

• Interactive possibilities: I can create calculators, templates, and dynamic content

• Professional appearance: The output looks modern and engaging

• Easy sharing: Just send people a link

The pricing is similar across all tools ($20-25/month), so cost isn't a deciding factor. But if you're using Lovable, you'll probably want another LLM for ideation since it's primarily a coding tool.

I think websites are way more exciting than PDFs for most lead magnets anyway (unless someone specifically needs to print it out). The interactive possibilities alone make it worth exploring.
