I’ve been using SEO as my weapon of choice for over 12 years.

I actually use the same 3 SEO best practices almost every time.
Tactic #1: Start with the conversion goal
Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Determine the current number of signups per week/month generated from SEO traffic.
Step 2: Establish a growth goal for the upcoming 12 months. How many additional signups per week would you like to get?
Step 3: Implement weekly KPI tracking to monitor progress toward the goal and provide regular reports to your team.
This simple template allows you to set up your conversion-focused SEO KPI tracking:
Tactic #2: Target BOF (bottom-of-the-funnel) keywords first
Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Make a list of keywords that describe your product category (for example: “X software for [Target Group]”) and all the related terms
Step 2: Use an SEO tool to find even more related BOF terms and expand the keywords list
Step 3: Use the same SEO tool (my go-to is SEMrush) and analyze the keywords your competitors are ranking for - BUT filter them by commercial search intent and add them to your list.
Quick note: Don't pick BOF keywords that are not connected to your value proposition. Skip them.
Tactic #3: Publish 2-3x more (high-value) content every month
Here’s why putting your content creation process on steroids works:
You’ll start seeing new rankings much quicker. 10 new articles per week will have a noticeably bigger and faster impact than publishing 1 article per week.
The compound effect of SEO will consistently grow your signups number week after week if you’re routinely publishing valuable content. Even 1% growth every week has a massive impact over a year.
When you outpace your competitors and achieve topical authority first, your domain will become almost bulletproof and you’ll have an easier time ranking for any new keywords in the future.
